I may never finish these, but I’ll learn stuff along the way.
I never finished Sonia Pilcer’s Maiden Rites:- but I’ve read the first half at least five times (and learned something new each time).

I, too, dated an endless succession of douche-bags until I finally met my wife when I was almost 25. We’ve been together for 47 years & just celebrated our 46th anniversary.
Hang in there, there are a few men and women out there who are not douche-bags. You’ve just got to make sure that you, yourself are not also a douche-bag.
